The results of the recently published report that follows a large-scale pelvic mesh inquiry raises significant concerns about how women have been treated over this issue.

As the legal representatives for a number of women claiming compensation, the report results did not come as much of a surprise to us. That being said, it was no less worrying to see the results of it.

For some, it may act as some form of vindication. Either way, we represent victims for compensation cases, and if you have yet to look into making a claim, we urge you to speak to our team as soon as you possibly can to avoid missing out.

Our view on the pelvic mesh inquiry results

We believe that the results of the recent pelvic mesh inquiry, in terms of legal cases, can be helpful.  Although the damage has already been done for the thousands who have had problems and complications around the world, the issue of some women not being taken seriously is at least highlighted.

We are already representing many women for compensation claims in England and Wales. Each case is pursued on its own merits, so we cannot easily say that the results of the inquiry will mean that everyone has a better chance of succeeding with a legal case. That being said, the findings could be useful in some cases, especially  where the opponent is defending the claim.

The revelations themselves are incredibly worrying. Instances of women being ignored, not being taken seriously, and even of some being questioned and branded as “hysterical” is a real concern. Given how serious and permanent some of the problems and complications can be, we expect that the level of care owed to patients should be exemplary. Instead, it appears that some women have simply been neglected in terms of their diagnosis and treatment, and this is unacceptable.

Ultimately, this is why we do what we do. Whilst we wish we could turn back the clock and stop all the issues that have come to light in the pelvic mesh inquiry report, we are not able to. What we can do is make sure that patients affected by vaginal mesh issues have a voice and are able to pursue claims for compensation with us.

Advice for pursuing a claim for compensation

We represent people for compensation claims for vaginal mesh injuries and suffering. We offer No Win, No Fee representation for eligible clients, and we are always happy to offer free, no-obligation advice to prospective clients as well.

We strongly recommend that you speak to us as soon as you can about your options for claiming. There can be multiple deadlines for cases like this, and if you miss just one of them, you could lose the chance to claim compensation. This could mean missing out on compensation that could amount to tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds.

It is hard for us to be able to determine with accuracy how long you have left to claim without being able to assess the case in full first. Do not risk missing out on your chance for justice.

Our work in this area of law

As we stated earlier, the results of the pelvic mesh inquiry did not come as much of a surprise to us. We have been representing women for cases specifically for vaginal mesh injurious for quite some time and we have succeeded in securing compensation.

We also represent people for hernia mesh claims and have represented people for a range of medical product cases in the past as well. This includes for Metal-on-Metal hip implants, and our work in recovering £1.3m in damages for victims of the PIP Breast Implant scandal so far.

When it comes to personal injury cases, our core focus is on serious and group/multi-party actions like this.
