Pelvic mesh suits continue against Boston Scientific

Pelvic mesh suits are to continue against pharmaceutical giant Boston Scientific after a Judge denied an attempt to dismiss some 800 claims.

The major pharmaceutical companies like Boston Scientific and Johnson and Johnson seem to be trying their hardest to dismiss the thousands of claims that are currently being made against them in them around the world. The UK is somewhat behind in terms of taking full legal action for victims pursuing pelvic mesh suits, and it’s a legal action we’re involved in.

This latest failed effort to dismiss claims is another small victory in what continues to be a long, hard fight for justice.

800 pelvic mesh suits move on

The 800 pelvic mesh suits move on as a judge has denied efforts by Boston Scientific to dismiss the cases. There are thought to be thousands of women who have suffered complications as a result of the use of transvaginal mesh and transvaginal tape devices, and only last month did the NHS finally put a widespread halt on the use of the devices, despite the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) changing their advice to stop the use of them at the end of 2017.

In the UK, there are a few ways that a person who has suffered from mesh implant complications may be able to take part in one of the many pelvic mesh suits being pursued. If the skill of the surgeon or the safety advice about the implants is in question, the case may be against the hospital and / or the NHS Trust, but where the implant is defective, we can pursue the likes of manufacturers such as Boston Scientific.

We’re involved in legal action against Dr Angamuthu Arunkalaivanan who triggered a recall following the unauthorised use of Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) treatment under the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital NHS Trust.
