Dealers in the U.S. are recalling 327 Buick Envision SUVs and around 634,000 Honda Odyssey Minivans due to defects that may cause injuries or potentially, death.<\/p>\n
This is yet another mass recall the automotive industry is embroiled in, and there seem to be recalls happening almost all of the time!

General Motors, an American multinational company that designs and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts, is recalling 327 Buick Envision SUV models that were manufactured between 19 January and 18 March 2016.<\/p>\n
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that the master cylinder brake lines could crack which may lead to a leak in brake fluid. If there is a loss of brake fluid, the braking performance may be affected and subsequently lost, increasing the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n
To rectify the issue, car dealerships are calling all owners of these SUVs to come forward so the master cylinder brake lines can be replaced. The service is said to come at no extra cost to affected owners.<\/p>\n
SUV owners can call the Buick customer service line at 1-800-521-7300, citing the recall number: #16169.<\/p>\n
General Motors have yet to publish a recall date, but Buick dealers will need to act quickly to replace the cylinder lines to prevent the brake fluid from leaking.<\/p>\n
The NHTSA has also recalled 4,558 of the same Buick model on the basis of inaccurate weight information printed on the SUVs’ Tire and Loading information label. Vehicle owners who rely on this information when loading their cars may exceed the allowed capacity. By exceeding the maximum capacity, it could reduce the driver’s ability to control the car in traffic, which increases the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n
On return of the vehicle, car dealers will inspect and install corrected Tire and Loading information.<\/p>\n
The recall is for Buick Envision SUVs manufactured from 4 February to 25 April 2016. Affected SUV owners are encouraged to call the Buick service line noted above with the recall number: #56340.<\/p>\n
General Motors aren’t the only ones recalling defective \/ potentially dangerous vehicles.<\/p>\n
Japanese automaker Honda is set to recall 633,753 Odyssey Minivans in the U.S. that were manufactured from 1 August 2010 to 1 October 2015. The reason for the mass recall is due to the second-row seats moving unexpectedly. The second-row seats have a lever that allows the seats to be moved forward so that passengers can access the third row, and it has been found that the release lever may remain unlocked, allowing the second-row seats to move.<\/p>\n
The issue was highlighted by 689 warranty claims that Honda received up to 16 December 2016. The Japanese automaker reported the defect to the NHTSA, who noted that the flaw “increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant during a crash”.<\/p>\n
According to USA Today, Honda will publish a recall notifying owners mid-February 2017. To rectify the issue, Honda dealers will install an additional bracket and spring to the second-row seats at no additional costs to affected minivan owners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
