Teva UK Limited are one of the latest pharmaceutical manufacturers that have recalled a batch of their drugs.<\/p>\n

The Nacrez 75 mg film-coated tablets have been recalled due to impurities found as part of their routine testing. The recall is said to be a precautionary measure taken by the company to ensure the safety of their customers.<\/p>\n

However, as with any medicine recall, the dangers to human health are always something to closely monitor.
\n<\/p>\n

About the tablets<\/h2>\n

Nacrez tablets are a well-known type of hormonal contraceptive pill better known as the progestogen-only pill (POP). There are common, uncommon, and rare side effects to this pill which include nausea, cysts on the ovaries, and the worst case scenario, an ectopic pregnancy. Of course, side effects can be different from individual to individual.<\/p>\n

However, there is a cause for concern in this case which is down to a specific batch reportedly producing some impurities which were found during a routine test. The worry at the moment is whether this could possibly lead to further potential side effects.<\/p>\n

Regulating body<\/h3>\n

Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is a governmental body that are responsible for regulating medicines, medical devices, and blood components for transfusion in the U.K. Just like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, they are an agency who seeks to protect and improve public health<\/strong>, as well as support innovation through scientific research and development. It’s important that the MHRA keeps a watchful eye on pharmaceutical manufacturers, especially when the protection of health and lives of individuals are in their hands.<\/p>\n

Advice from the manufacturer<\/h3>\n

Any women using the drugs are advised to address their doctor or pharmacist if they have concerns.<\/p>\n

The manufacturer has called for the remaining stock in the batch to be ‘quarantined’ and returned for credit. As far as we’re aware, there has not been any consumer complaints made against the company, but we would expect there will be if the impurities in the batch cause any users to suffer from adverse health impacts or consequences, and I’m sure there will be legal action against the company if that turns out to be the case.<\/p>\n

Is there a claim?<\/h3>\n

As the impurities are in relation to human health and safety, the nature of the potential breach could be serious. Those who are affected by the tablets manufactured by Teva UK Ltd may have a claim against the company for personal injury if something does go wrong.<\/p>\n

The seriousness of the claims can be considered when looking at the potential side effects of using the pill. The serious side effects of taking tablets and medicine with impurities can be huge.
