As such, data that has gone through this process may have been compromised.<\/p>\n<p>This may therefore include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Names and postal \/ billing addresses;<\/li>\n<li>Any contact information like email addresses and telephone numbers provided;<\/li>\n<li>Payment card data \u2013 which could include long card numbers, expiration dates and CVV numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When exposed, this kind of data can lead to people falling victim to serious crimes like theft and identity fraud. This could put people at an immediate risk, and it may be that some people have already been targeted by criminals.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Similarities to British Airways data breach<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The similarities between the Missoma data breach and the <strong>British Airways<\/strong> incident that we are also representing people for are clear. Both were cases of malicious code being inserted into websites by cyber hackers to steal information, which raises a number of questions.<\/p>\n<p>Although we don\u2019t yet know the full details of the Missoma incident, we are concerned that an almost identical incident has taken place; especially since the BA incidents were in 2018. This, and the fact that there have been a number of high-profile breaches in recent years, should have served as a clear warning for businesses to take action to make sure that their customers\u2019 information is safe.<\/p>\n<p>The introduction of the more stringent GDPR should have also been enough for this kind of incident to have been easily avoided.
