The importance of an overhaul into NHS breast cancer screening practices cannot be understated, which is why the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is looking into it.<\/p>\n

One simple coding error led to hundreds of thousands of women not receiving their invitation for screening that\u2019s directly designed to save people\u2019s lives. This cannot be allowed to happen again, and there are far better systems that could be used to avoid a repeat of this situation.<\/p>\n

A recent report from the National Audit Office (NAO) reportedly concluded that many screening systems relied on old IT systems that were complex.
